How to recolor an AI-generated image

Have an AI-generated image with a color you want to change? Open the existing image in HueHueStudio, choose the source and replacement colors, and use a mask when the same color appears in several places. This workflow edits an existing raster image.

Choose the source and replacement colors

Sample a representative shade inside the object in Pick, then choose the new color. Move to Adjust to see the recolor. Generated gradients can contain many related shades, so inspect coverage rather than assuming one sample affects the whole object.

Mask areas when colors repeat

Use Select over the intended region when its color also appears in text, skin, background or another object. Erase protects areas included by mistake. The raster PNG example explains the same selective color workflow.

Adjust and inspect the preview

Compare Tolerance, Edge softness and Color purity on your image. Prime white first can change the balance between the new color and original shading. Inspect outlines and repeated-color details at full size.

Export the recolored image

Download the PNG and inspect it before use. Inputs larger than 1,800 pixels on the longest side are resized. HueHueStudio edits pixels; this guide does not describe image generation, AI prompt editing or Illustrator vector recoloring.
